The personal connection between students and faculty in the Women’s Studies program is one of the main things that attracted me to the minor.
- Christine Messina ’07, English major, women’s studies minor

Overview

In the Women’s Studies minor at Plymouth State University, students discover the diversity of women’s lives from cultural, historical, and scientific perspectives, learn about feminist methodologies and explore the use of gender as a tool for analyzing experience.

Women’s Studies is not only for women. Men also benefit by pursuing the Women’s Studies minor, which allows for a significant degree of personalization.

Women’s Studies supports and is supported by a strong infrastructure of related resources at PSU. Students and faculty from the minor are involved with  the S.A.G.E. Center (Sexuality, Anti-Violence, and Gender Equity), Women’s History Month, AWARE, ALSO, the Diversity Commission, Student Senate and the Wellness Center. Students are encouraged to blend their co-curricular activities with their academic work in the minor.
