Austin W. Smith '79

Austin Smith ’79 joined Newmark Knight Frank as a principal and helped open its Boston office in 2007. With a career in the commercial real estate industry spanning more than 20 years, Mr. Smith came to Newmark Knight Frank with an extensive background in industrial brokerage services. Mr. Smith oversees a team of brokers covering the area south of Boston as well as urban industrial assignments. Prior to joining Newmark Knight Frank, Mr. Smith was a senior vice president at Lincoln Property Company where he headed up the industrial brokerage group as well as playing a major role in industrial development opportunities. Before his tenure at Lincoln Property Company, Mr. Smith was a broker and eventually a partner with CB Richard Ellis/Whittier Partners. On several occasions Mr. Smith was recognized as a national achiever based on his numerous accomplishments with the firm. Mr. Smith began his real estate career in 1985 with The Winfield Group and has also been a broker with The Niles Company.
