October – Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October 21st, 2014 by elmarrotte

breast-cancer-awarenessOctober is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A best friend, family member, or you could be diagnosed at any stage in life. Generally, women are susceptible of developing breast cancer once they turn 40 years old, but women can be diagnosed before this. Believe it or not, men can also get breast cancer too. Although the risk of males developing this disease is very rare, it is still important for men to be educated about breast cancer. If and when a male develops breast cancer, it is usually when they are between 60 and 70 years of age, however males can develop this decease at any age. We can all help raise awareness of this disease by wearing pink this month, making a donation, or hosting a fundraiser in support of breast cancer awareness and research.
