Relationship to PSU and the PCD:

Assistant Professor, English Department
Commission on Diversity co-chair

Personal and professional areas of interest:

My work prepares teachers for a diverse, interconnected, yet too frequently inequitable society.  I teach and learn for social justice.  I am interested in critical perspectives of multicultural education, curriculum and pedagogy, public schools, and teacher education.  More specifically, I study the social narratives and ethical arguments future teachers and others use to think about identities and difference, in particular racialized identities and differences, democracy and justice, and teaching and learning.

Goals and visions about diversity at PSU?

I would like to work with the members of the President’s Commission on Diversity to imagine, theorize about, and articulate ways to affirm and support diversity at Plymouth State.  In particular, I am interested in projects, programs and spaces through which we can develop a greater collective consciousness and sustained commitment to equity on campus, in Plymouth, and in New Hampshire.
