Personal and professional areas of interest:
As my work prepares teachers for a diverse, too frequently inequitable, complex, and increasing interconnected world, I teach and learn for social justice. I am interested in critical perspectives of multicultural education, curriculum and pedagogy, and teacher education. In particular, I am interested in the social visions and ethical arguments future teachers use as they think about identities and difference, democracy and justice, language and literacy, and teaching and learning.

Goals and visions about diversity at PSU?
I would like to work with the members of the Commission on Diversity to imagine, theorize about, and articulate ways to define, affirm, support, and enhance diversity at PSU. Towards sharing our splintered visions and building a collective consciousness on campus, I would like to pursue the possibility of establishing some kind of center and/or faculty position which focuses on how identities and power matter across campus and the community.

Fun fact:
I am expecting my second son in early April.
