Relationship to PSU: Assistant Professor of History, Department of Social Sciences

Personal and professional areas of interest:
I am particularly interested in questions related to gender, race, and national identity. I am also very interested in helping the PSU community, in concert with the larger Plymouth community. Learn more about international diversity, global affairs, and activities, which broaden our multi-cultural understanding.

Goals and visions about diversity at PSU?
I envision a commission dedicated to campus and community dialogue on what diversity means and how we can best apply these definitions to a holistic and active practice–broadening our services, activities, and learning in ways that are sensitive, compassionate, and meaningful. I also think it is important to embrace difference and dissonance in our debates because discomfort often challenges us to grow in new directions.

Fun fact:
I once danced with the Radio City Rockettes and made Bill Cosby laugh.
