Indoor Air Quality:

Indoor air quality has become a significant area of concern as well as an area that offers many opportunities for improvement.  Some of the improvement projects so far undertaken include the following.

  1. New bathroom ventilation has been installed throughout Pemi Hall improving the air quality in both restrooms and public circulation spaces.
  2. Indoor air quality improvements have been made in the newly remodeled Performance Center/Weight Room with the addition of an outside air ventilation system.
  3. In Blair and Belknap Halls the ventilation system ductwork was thoroughly cleaned resulting in increased ventilation effectiveness and improved indoor air quality.
  4. Air conditioned areas in Memorial Hall have been increased for greater occupant comfort.
  5. In Draper Maynard air quality and overall safety have been enhanced by the development of waste storage and container management programs.  The faculty and staff in these areas have received training on Safety in the Arts.
  6. A new ventilation system is being added to the FSB Paint Shop.
  7. Moisture control projects that will impact and enhance the indoor air quality have been undertaken in the basements of Mary Taylor House, Samuel Reed Hall Hall, and Rounds Hall.
