Common Reading

Chosen for all incoming students and the campus in general:

      1. Dobbs, David and Richard Ober. The Northern Forest.  White River Junction, VT:  Chelsea Green, 1995.

Ober is a PSU graduate and one of the founding members of Common Ground at PSU. The book is an excellent narrative of real people's lives in the Northern Forest, a bioregion stretching from northern Maine through northern NH, VT, and into northern NY. The issues of sustainability are eloquently profiled in the actual words of people who live and work there.
