Voices Poem

Laura Burns

---

I’m pregnant; I do not want an abortion,

I do not believe in it.

Babies should not be having

babies.

Why did she do this to herself?

Sex was beautiful, Mitch loves me,

He said so.

Mitch does not love you,

He’s seventeen.

What will she do?

What about college?

I’ll take time off, I can do this.

Slut.

Does he know?

How should I tell him?

He’ll be happy, I know it.

Naive.

Your going to ruin your life.

I’ll be fine, everything will be fine.

Slut.

She is just denying reality.

He definitely was not happy.

Obviously.

What will you do?

What have you done to yourself?

I’m all alone.

Your on your own.

I’m here for you.

Friends always.                                                                                            Friends always.
