1. Select the area of your photo/image that you would like to make into a new layer by using one of the selection tools.

| 2. Right click on the selected area. |
| 3. Select Create a New Layer . |
| 4. Type in the name of your new layer. |
| 5. Press ENTER. |

| 1. On your keyboard, type CTRL + SHIFT + N . |
| 2. Type the name of your new layer in the dialog box that pops up. |
| 3. Click OK. |
1. Locate the Layers Palette in the lower right-hand corner of the A.P.E. interface. |
2. Double click on the name of the layer you wish to change. |
3. Type in the new name of the layer. |
| 4. Press ENTER . |
1. Locate the Layers Palette in the lower right-hand corner of the A.P.E. interface. |
| 2. Click on the picture of the layer you wish to switch to. |

| 2. Click on the eye next to the layer you wish to hide. If no eye is showing, the layer is invisible. |

1. In your Layers Palette , right click on the layer you wish to delete. |
2. Choose Delete Layer from the pop up menu. |
3. Click Yes. |

| 1. In your Layers Palette , click on the layer you wish to delete. |
| 2. Click on the trash can |
| 3. Click Yes . |
