(SEE NOTE BELOW) *Forgive us if there are misspellings on these lists. Some of the handwriting was tough to read on the forms. Email Trish at plindber@plymouth.edu with any changes.
Thank you so much for taking the time to come audition for ETC’s 2010 production of Godspell. We value each and every one of you!
Please check all lists carefully for your name. If you do not see it, we hope that you will come to the show (January 27 – 31) at the Silver Center, PSU (Box Office (603) 535-ARTS) and audition again next year. Casting is always difficult, as we can’t take everyone who auditions each year. Please know that you are valued and appreciated regardless of the outcome of the auditions. Thank you!
If you are in grades 3-6 or have a younger sibling, think about coming to the Children’s Arts Festival on January 16. If you want more info on the Festival, email Robb Dimmick at ribooks@aol.com and he can send you a registration form.
All those cast in the Circus Pre-Show or Godspell need to try and come for costume measurements and orientation on Thursday, November 19 from 6-8 p.m. or Friday, November 20 from 6-8 p.m. in Room 130 in the Silver Center at PSU. You will not need to stay the entire time, but be prepared to possibly wait a little bit so bring a book. It would be helpful if younger cast members came from 6-7 p.m. and older cast members from 7-8 p.m. if possible. The costumers will get you in and out of there as quickly as possible.
Solos will be cast once rehearsals begin. All those cast as DISCIPLES are asked to make themselves familiar with the music of Godspell, especially those solos in a comfortable vocal range. Final decisions as to solos, duets, trios, etc. will be made at a callback audition on Sunday, January 3rd from 2-5 p.m. at the Silver Center before the read-through at 6 p.m. Specific lines and various ensemble roles will be given out in rehearsals the first week or so.
As in the past, ETC has attempted to involve as many individuals as possible, but because this is an ensemble show and not segmented like Wizard of Oz, Godspell cast members will need to commit fully to ETC for the month of January. We purposely did not cast that many children under 11 years old in the production, because of the demands of Godspell, but there are some. Please consider the commitment ETC is carefully, if your child is younger, and be sure they are mature enough to handle 3-4 weekday rehearsals from approx. 6 until 8 or 9 p.m. as well as Sundays from approx. 1-5:30 p.m. throughout the month. Many children thrive on this, but others are not developmentally ready. In an audition setting, it is not always possible to determine whether or not a child is ready for the intensity of ETC. If your child is cast and you have concerns about their readiness for ETC, please email Trish right away at plindber@plymouth.edu so that we can make an adjustment. Perhaps the pre-show, with less rehearsals required, would be a better fit for your child. We want this to be a joyful and positive experience for everyone.
If, for ANY reason, you have changed your mind about participating in ETC, please notify Trish immediately so we can be on top of any changes early. We look forward to getting to know you all through this process and communication is key.
Thanks again for all your support! Additional information will be forthcoming in the coming weeks to those participating this year. In the meantime, feel free to email Trish with any questions and/or concerns.
Most sincerely,
Trish and the ETC Production Staff
