Trainers: 
Win Turner Ph.D., LACD, is the former Program Director of the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center Addiction Treatment Program in Lebanon, NH.  He is a nationally certified trainer on the use of MET/CBT with adolescents.

Geoff Beyer MS, is a former youth and family counselor and school counselor.  Currently he serves as the Montpelier, VT Parks Director and is responsible for a multitude of youth/family and vocational rehabilitation programs to address risk behaviors with healthy community alternatives.

Mindflight

The Mindflight Summer Enrichment Program is a rich educational opportunity for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students, integrating the sciences, technology, culture and the arts. Mindflight is an intensive, one-week summer residential program for 80 –100 middle school students taught by teams of Plymouth State University faculty and teachers from New Hampshire schools. The Mindflight program fully immerses students in a college community and helps enhance their desire and resolve to pursue post-secondary education. Participating students share their experiences and serve as models for their classmates when they return to their schools. Five interdisciplinary teams offer the following Mindflight themes:

• The Sights and Sounds of Space
  Integrating astronomy, music composition and computer technologies
• Ecological Expeditions
  Integrating the environmental sciences, geography, statistics and computer technologies
• The Mythical Masks of Creative Expression
  Integrating creative writing, art, mythology, music, and computer technologies
• Multimedia Madness
  Integrating music composition, graphic design and other multimedia computer applications
• Video Venturer
  Integrating video story-telling and motion graphics

This six-day, five night program includes room, meals, instruction and materials; all activities are available for only $425 per student, plus a $25 registration fee. ICET

In the ICET (pronounced ice-tea) Program, teams of New Hampshire teachers develop interdisciplinary, multimedia curricular materials for classroom instruction. The program provides pre-training in the various applications that the teams will use during an intensive summer institute in July, as well as follow-up instruction and technical support during the school year. In addition to the standards-based curricular projects and materials the teams create, ICET participants also learn to employ professional multimedia applications for developing additional curricular materials by themselves and/or by their students. Currently, the ICET program employs a number of multimedia applications for developing and assembling the projects that can be published on the World Wide Web. Junior and Senior Piano Monster Festivals

The Junior Piano Monster Festival, is open to students currently taking piano lessons and completing grades 5, 6, 7 and 8. Students completing grade 8 may choose to attend either the Senior or Junior Festival. The Senior Piano Monster Festival, is open to students currently taking piano lessons and completing grades 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12.

The final concerts of the four-day festival will be held in the Hanaway Theatre of the Silver Center for the Arts.

Continuing Education Unit Instructions

        1.    Register and pay for a Seminars on Science course at the AMNH website.

        2.    Print the Plymouth State CEU Request Form and return it to Plymouth with payment for CEUs.

        3.    Successfully complete the Seminars on Science course work.  (The majority of your assessment levels must be average, satisfactory, or exemplary.)

        4.    Mail or email the following to Gail Carr at Plymouth State University:

               a.  A copy of your SOS Course Evaluation (supplied by your AMNH course instructor)

               b.  A copy of your SOS Final Project

Cost:  AMNH fee:  $445 Up to 4 CEU credits ($50 each, minimum one credit per course):  $50-$200 Total:  $495 + up

Project Adventure

Continuing Education Units

What are CEUs?  The CEU was created in 1968.  Originally conceived as a quantitative measure of successfully completed continuing education, the CEU has evolved into a hallmark of quality training and instruction by responsible, qualified organizations.  One (1) CEU is equal to ten (10) contact hours of continuing education.  CEUs can be earned by attending any of our open enrollment or custom workshops.  CEUs are coordinated by Plymouth State University of the University System of New Hampshire.

Cost:  There is a nominal fee of $15 to obtain CEUs

Availability:  Available for all Project Adventure workshops.  For further information, please visit Project Adventure's Web site.

Paperwork Required:  Print the Plymouth State CEU Request Form and return it to Plymouth with payment for CEUs or forms are available at the time of your workshop.  Completed forms must be submitted within 30 days of the workshop.
