Throughout history, games have been played by everyone from royalty to commoners. Using the paraphernalia of games and depictions of game playing, Asian Games: The Art of Contest highlights the prominence of Asia as the source of many familiar games and shows their transmission to the West. This exhibition addresses important themes in Asian culture while illuminating new and unfamiliar aspects of our own.
