2013 Faculty Exhibition

September 3-25,2013

“Digital Nature of Art,” David Martin, PSU Art Faculty, Digital Print on Paper

Each year, PSU art faculty show their finest current work in the opening exhibition of the Karl Drerup Art Gallery. This exhibit is especially important to the educational mission of the art department as the work on display sets a standard for the students throughout the year. Diversity of approaches, both formal and conceptual, variety of media and their usage, personal and societal thematic statements, and fine craftsmanship demonstrate the gamut of faculty involvement in their respective disciplines.

PSU art department faculty are progressive artists whose work is representative of the best of active artists in New England. They provide outstanding artistic leadership to university art students in the region. Many disciplines are presented in this exhibition, beginning with the traditional works of painting and sculpture and continuing with ceramics, drawing, printmaking, graphic design, digital art, and photography. Works shown also include alternative media and installation forms.

Opening Reception: Tuesday, September 10, 4-6 p.m.
