Catherine Amidon

Director of Exhibitions & Gallery

Catherine Amidon is currently director of exhibitions at Plymouth State University. Amidon has curated more than 30 exhibitions including three that toured nationally. She earned a Doctorat from University of Paris I, Panthéon-Sorbonne, France and worked at the Museum of Modern Art of the City of Paris in the 1980s. She also traveled through Eastern Europe and Russia for grant-sponsored research.

Amidon has published numerous articles in journals, reviews and exhibition catalogues. Over the past ten years, she has worked extensively with Jamaican artists and critical issues of Jamaican art. Recently, Amidon completed a Fulbright Fellowship in Kingston, Jamaica where she worked at the National Gallery and the Edna Manley College of Visual and Performing Arts.
