M.A.T. in Science Education

For students with a degree in science or education wishing to become science teachers, PSU offers the Master of Arts in Teaching in Science Education program. The Master of Arts in Teaching in science features advanced work in science along with courses and experiences required for teacher certification.

M.Ed. in Secondary Education

This degree program prepares science teachers for the teaching at the middle and/or high school level. Concentration areas include Biology Education: 7-12 Education Certification, General Science Education: 5-9 Certification and Physical Science: 7-12 Certification.

Master of Science in Applied Meteorology

The field of meteorology has experienced explosive growth in knowledge because of recent technological advances. Students in the M.S. program will receive a much greater depth of knowledge in specific areas of applied meteorology (such as satellite, radar, air quality, transportation).

Master of Science in Biology

Coursework in this program prepares professional biologists with a wide variety of skills needed to apply current knowledge and technology to address and support current and future biological problems. The research emphasis of this program will further enhance these skills and contribute to the body of knowledge in the field of biology.

Master of Science in Environmental Science and Policy

The M.S. in Environmental Science and Policy will prepare future scientists and resource managers with the interdisciplinary competence for career opportunities in industry, government, non-profit organizations and academia. The programs will focus on interrelated chemical, physical, biological and socio-cultural topics that drive environmental policy and management.

Master of Science in Science Education

This degree program targets middle and high school teachers who already hold a bachelor's degree in science; elementary school teachers with a bachelor's degree and the equivalent of a minor in science; and teachers working toward state certification.
