Build upon your experience and develop your leadership skills through a dynamic advanced-level graduate program. Plymouth State’s Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in Educational Leadership is designed to provide students like you with the skills, methodologies, and experiences necessary to excel as a leader in education. Built on a foundation of educational theory, policy, analysis, systems theory, collaborative leadership, and strategic planning, the CAGS program represents a collaborative effort by the New Hampshire Department of Education and Plymouth State University.
Class formats include both online and face-to-face meetings led by distinguished faculty who are experts in their field. One-week intensive core courses are offered in the summer, making it possible to complete the core courses within two years. Accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), the CAGS in Educational Leadership program also meets the accreditation standards for the National Council of Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
As a CAGS candidate you’ll explore contemporary issues in education and you can design your program of study to obtain certification in the following areas:
- Curriculum Administration, K-12
- Reading and Writing Specialist, K-12
- School Principal, K-12
- School Psychology, K-12
- Special Education Administration, K-12
- Superintendent of Schools, K-12
Or, you can focus your program in:
- Arts, Leadership, and Learning
- Counselor Education and School Psychology
- Neurodevelopmental Approach to Teaching
- Self-Designed
With rolling admission, you may start your program during any term and can take up to three CAGS credits before being admitted to Plymouth State.
