Additional Admissions Requirements for CAGS Applicants

In addition to completing the standard CAGS application requirements, CAGS candidates must also meet or submit the items outlined below.

CAGS in Educational Leadership

Curriculum Administrator

  • Provide evidence of a minimum of three years of experience as a K-12 educator and possess a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, or in education with additional coursework in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment.

K-12 Reading and Writing Specialist

  • Provide evidence of a minimum of two years of teaching experience and possess teacher certification.

K-12 Special Education Administration

  • Provide evidence of a minimum of three years of teaching experience and possess certification in general special education K-12.

CAGS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling

  • Meet with the chair or program coordinator to review your Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies degree curriculum and determine your eligibility to enroll in the program.
  • Participate in the Counselor Education and School Psychology admissions interview. The admissions interview is a half-day event held in January, April, July, and October and involves an informational session along with a group interview. Participation in the interview process is open to any prospective student and is not dependent on students having completed the application process. CAGS in School Psychology

  • Meet with the chair or program coordinator to review your Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies degree curriculum and determine your eligibility to enroll in the program.
