Frequently Asked Questions

Is there housing available for graduate students?

Yes. There are 30 on-campus "non-traditional" apartments available to graduate students as well as a number of off campus possibilities. You must apply for on-campus housing so contact the Plymouth State University Residential Life Office ASAP by e-mailing: reslife@plymouth.edu. Res Life staff can assist you with both on- and off-campus housing options. The Chamber of Commerce site for the town of Plymouth can also help you locate off-campus housing.

Are there graduate assistantships available?

Graduate assistantships are available for those who are NATA-BOC certified at both the Entry Level and Advanced Master's level:
  • Assistantships for Entry Level students
Graduate assistantships are not available in the entry-level program. Please note: the entry-level program is time intensive. Classes are scheduled in the mornings to allow for afternoon (sometimes nights and weekend) clinical practicum times. Clinical time is also influenced by the assigned team coverage, therefore there may be some night and weekend commitments depending upon the team and the season. There is not much additional time to allow for other work (see Sample Schedule for the Entry Level Master's Option) (PDF 20kb).
  • Assistantships for Advanced Master's students
There are three graduate assistantships available for certified athletic trainers in the Advanced Master's Program. Two individuals will be assigned to Plymouth State University team coverage. The other assistantship provides experience on the high school level at a Tilton School.
