Counselor Education and School PsychologyChair: Dr. Gail Mears, e-mail: gmears@plymouth.edu The Counselor Education and School Psychology concentrations are designed as 33 -credit programs that address the needs of practicing counselors and educators who have completed a master's degree and are interested in pursuing advanced academic work in school counseling, mental health counseling counselor education or school psychology. ConcentrationsAdmission RequirementsThe admission requirements for the CAGS concentrations in Counselor Education and School Psychology include two additional requirements. First, prospective students need to meet with the chair or Program Coordinator to undergo a curriculum review of candidates' previous master's degree to determine initial eligibility for the degree. Additionally, they participate in the Counselor Education and School Psychology Admissions Interview. The Admissions Interview is a 1/2 day event held on the first Friday morning in August, November, February, and May. This interview involves an informational session and group and individual interviews. Participation in the interview process is open to any prospective students and is not dependent on students having completed the application process to the College of Graduate Studies. An admissions decision will be made upon completion of both of the above outlined processes.
