Barbara Lopez-Mayhew supervises Plymouth State University Languages and Linguistics student teachers and advises students with study and work abroad opportunities. Lopez-Mayhew is a frequent publisher and presenter both locally and abroad. Her most recent publication is a student edition of Valor, Agravio y Mujer by Ana Caro Mallén de Soto, a 17th century Spanish author. Lopez-Mayhew is a member of many state, national, and international associations such as Modern Language Association (MLA), Association for Hispanic Classical Theater, AATSP (American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese), and ACTFL (American Council of Teachers of Foreign Languages), and ALDEEU (Asociación de licenciados y doctores españoles en los Estados Unidos).
