Along with being the director of the Counseling and Human Relations Center, Michael Fischler is a professor in the Department of Educational Leadership, Learning and Curriculum and Department of Elementary Education and Childhood Studies. He is active in public speaking, presenting workshops and publishing articles in areas that focus on social behavior and cultural diversity. He specializes in human behavior and teaches courses which focus on cultural diversity, social behavior, and interpersonal and group processes. At the Counseling and Human Relations Center Dr. Fischler has the opportunity to apply “pragmatically” what he teaches “theoretically.” In addition to teaching, Fischler founded the “First Star Tonight” organization, is a hospice volunteer, and is chair of the Graduate Faculty.
