Elliott Gruner is Director of Composition and Professor of English at Plymouth State University. Previously, he was Director of the University Writing Program at the University of New Hampshire and Director of Advanced Composition at West Point, as well as a speechwriter and special assistant in the United Nations Command. His areas of interest include composition, writing, American literature, technology, captivities, and leadership and administration. Gruner is a member of the National Council of Teachers of English and the Council of Writing Program Administrators.
