Profile

Blake Allen's commitments at the College of Graduate Studies include positions as Coordinator of the Master of Education, Self Designed program; research fellow; advisor; and adjunct faculty. In addition, she has acted as a consultant to the Plymouth State University Administration on preservation and community issues.


Blake Allen also has been appointed as Director of Plymouth State University's Pakistani Institute and as coordinator of Pakistani Projects. Funded by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the institute focuses on training leaders in Pakistan's educational systems. Besides her 2006 appointment as director, she has been an Institute faculty member since 2004.

Research Interests

Blake Allen's research focuses on preservation, heritage and interdisciplinary issues. She has done extensive work in the Chesapeake, New England and England. Her work involves applying research to site-based interpretations and to heritage and interdisciplinary education initiatives. As Director of PSU's Pakistani Institute and as an institute faculty member, she also demonstrates how to use community-based primary sources to link local and global issues.

Professional Experience

Blake Allen's work at the College of Graduate Studies includes professional development opportunities for educators. The conferences and workshops focus on interdisciplinary and heritage-based applications of the New Hampshire frameworks and national standards in education.


She also acts as a consultant. She has consulted on projects for organizations that include Plymouth State University, the Science Center of New Hampshire, Historic Annapolis, the Historic St. Mary's City Commission, Londontowne Public House, and the Montgomery County Historical Society.
