Profile

Associate Professor David Starbuck is a research anthropologist with an interest in archaeology. He has more than 30 years of college and university teaching experience, and has been at Plymouth State University since 1993. Professor Starbuck has written 14 books and approximately 90 articles and book chapters based on his varied research interests. He has recently written a book on the archaeology of New Hampshire.

Research Interests

  • Historical and industrial archeology (especially 18th-century forts and battlefields); American utopian societies (including the Shakers); the rise of civilization in both the old and new worlds; Mesoamerican prehistory; Native American prehistory and ethno-history.
