Profile
Associate Professor of Acting Elizabeth Cox is the director of PSU’s theater program and has a strong background in theatrical performance, including acting, directing and speech. She also teaches sign language at PSU. Cox has worked as a professional counselor for the deaf in New Hampshire and Texas. She has acted professionally in New England, North Carolina and West Virginia as well as in voice/speech coaching, and video and voice-over for commercial and educational purposes. Her directing credits include The Art of Dining, The Diviners, Noises Off, The Secret Garden, Quilters, Godspell, Hero by Proxy and A New Brain.

  • B.A. in speech and dramatic art, University of Missouri

Research Interests
  • Acting methods, using acting for personal development, speech and text, directing styles, sign language for visual learners, sign language as a tool for actors.
