Profile
Dr. Gail Mears is Chair of the Counselor Education and School Psychology programs at Plymouth State University and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with over 30 years experience in the mental health field. She has experience in community mental health, family services, private practice, and college counseling. As an active member of professional organizations, she is a past president of the American Mental Health Counselors Association, the New Hampshire Mental Health Counselors Association and the Northern New England Association for Counselor Education and Supervision. She is the president-elect of the North Atlantic Association for Counselor Education and Supervision. Dr. Mears serves as the Clinical Mental Health Counseling representative to the New Hampshire Board of Mental Health Practice. She awarded the Counselor Educator of the Year in Mental Health Counseling by the American Mental Health Counselors Association in 2003.

Professional Experience
30 years experience in clinical mental health counseling including community mental health, family services, private practice and college counseling. In addition to her current academic responsibilities, Dr. Mears currently provides counseling services to university students through the Plymouth State University Counseling and Human Relations Center.
