Profile

Judith Lavoie is a reading specialist with extensive experience in K-12 classroom teaching. At Plymouth State University, she is dedicated to sharing her knowledge by teaching courses on reading and writing in the content areas and supervising practicum experiences for graduate students. Her courses emphasize the challenges and changes within literacy instruction and help prepare students to become leaders within educational communities. In addition, Lavoie has spent time teaching in Jamaica, where she helped organize a reading day, during which 2,000 students walked across the island to receive free books and participate in literacy activities.
