Profile

Rick St. Hilaire serves as the Grafton County Attorney, the chief prosecutor and senior law enforcement authority in northwestern New Hampshire. He has been a prosecuting attorney since 1995 and was elected to a fourth consecutive term as county attorney in November 2008. In 2006, County Attorney St. Hilaire received the award of County Attorney of the Year by the New Hampshire Association of Counties. In 2005 he was named one of New Hampshire's top "40 Under 40" leaders by the Union Leader newspaper and the New Hampshire Business and Industry Association. He serves as a member of the New Hampshire Governor's Crime Commission.


Attorney St. Hilaire's 15 years of trial and criminal investigations experience is complemented by particular expertise in cases involving art and cultural property. St. Hilaire works with colleagues in the international legal community to investigate and publicize crimes against culture and art. He serves as Vice-Chair of the American Bar Association's Art and Cultural Heritage Law Committee, Section of International Law, and is Assistant Coordinator of the International Council of Museums' Legal Issues in Conservation Working Group. Attorney St. Hilaire is also an avocational Egyptologist who has studied ancient Egyptian art, architecture, and language at the Massachusetts College of Art and University College London.


Attorney St. Hilaire is also a member of the National District Attorneys Association, the International Association of Prosecutors, and the National Association of Drug Court Professionals.


He is licensed to practice law in the State of New Hampshire and Washington, DC.
