Profile

Bob serves as the Director of Information Systems and Health Information Management for Speare Memorial Hospital and has been in this position since January 2009. He has more than 20 years of Information Technology experience starting with three years as the Director of information Technology for St. Joseph's Hospital in Bangor Maine.

In 1998 he assumed the position as Director of Information Systems and eventually became the Chief Information Officer for Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover, NH. He was work for Massachusetts General Hospital and then became the National Director of Technical Deployment for Fresenius Medical Care. While at Fresenius he deployed the Electronic Medical Record to more than 2000 clinics within the United States.

Bob has acted as interim CIO and Sr. Project Director for Glen Falls Hospital in Glen Falls, NY and work at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center as Director of Clinical Information Systems.

  • Bob is enrolled in the doctoral program at Franklin Pierce College and is currently in the literature review phase of his research.

Research Interests

His research interests focus on the study of how change, in particular the implementation of technology, affects outcomes in the deliver of patient care. Bob achieved rock star status when he was Awarded in 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002 Top 100 "Most Wired" Hospitals in the United States as selected by the American Health Association, Health Care's Most Wired Magazine.
