Profile
Dr. Warren Mason ia a professor in both the Department of Business and the Department of Communication Studies at Plymouth State University, University System of New Hampshire. He is also a member of the Marketing faculty and the MBA Graduate Program. Professor Mason was the third recipient of the PSU Distinguished Graduate Teaching Award in Business in 2003.
Professor Mason received his doctorate from Boston University and is a member of the interdisciplinary honor society, Phi Kappa Phi. He belongs to educational associations, such as the Association for Business Communication, for which he is a frequent academic speaker, and professional societies, such as the Public Relations Society of America.
Dr. Mason has been an investment representative, a principal in the hotel/restaurant industry, and an advertising & promotion manager for financial institutions. He is a former officer and board member of the Advertising Club of New Hampshire. He also belongs to the New England Yankee Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, where he has been active on the Education Committee.
Professor Mason is a frequent speaker in the United States and Canada for academic, civic, and professional groups and has been interviewed on both radio and instructional television. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for The James Jones Society, a nonprofit international literary organization that financially supports creative writing. He has published articles on Business - Media Relations and Crisis Communication in professional publications.
Professor Mason has been a commentator on media/political issues relating to the New Hampshire primary. He was interviewed on cable & internet television on the NH Primary. He has also participated in a series of political interviews for National Public Radio (Boston affiliate) and one by the New York Times. Dr. Mason is a member of the Association of Professional Communication Consultants and regularly advises industry and business organizations on public relations & media issues.
