James Whiting has nearly three decades of experience in TESOL as a teacher and teacher trainer. He has trained teachers and taught English to non-native speakers in the United States and overseas. Whiting was a Fulbright scholar in Panama and a Senior Fellow in the Office of English Language Programs at the US State Department. Whiting is a past-President of Northern New England TESOL where he has also served as the New Hampshire state representative to the Executive Board. Whiting holds an ESOL teaching license in Vermont.
Professor Whiting’s research interests include ELL teacher advocacy and the education of English language learners in low-incidence settings.
