Profile
Jason Swift earned his BFA from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1994, his MFA from the Rinehart School of Sculpture at the Maryland Institute, College of Art (MICA) in 1997 and his EdM in 2003 and EdD in 2009 from Teachers College, Columbia University. He was Artist in Residence for the Curatorial Experiences Program at MICA from 1998 to 1999 and a lecturer at the Central Academy of Fine Arts’ 2005 Art Education Leadership Academy in Beijing, China. In addition, he has delivered papers at the NAEA and SECAC/MACAA annual conferences on studio-based practices research and autoethnographic methodology. He has taught studio and art education courses at Teachers College, Columbia University and art education and master’s level research courses at Queens College, CUNY. Jason Swift received the 1997 Amalie Rothchild Award and was the 2005 Enid Morse Fellow. In 2004 he co-founded the Pearl Street Gallery in Brooklyn, NY. He has exhibited in the U.S., South Korea and China and is in collections in the U.S. and Australia. Jason Swift lives and works in New Hampshire and continues to exhibit his artwork in the US and internationally.
