Profile

Eric holds a joint position as a Research Assistant Professor at PSU and the Director of Research at Mount Washington Observatory. Prior to joining PSU and MWO, Eric worked for two years as a broadcast weatherman on KOMU-NBC in Columbia, Missouri while earning his Bachelors. After earning his Masters degree in Atmospheric Science, he integrated his interests of weather with climate by studying ice cores at UNH. While at UNH, he was a member a group of researchers who spent three weeks on the glaciers in Denali National Park to find a suitable location to drill an ice core.

  • Developing a high-resolution forecasting model for the high elevations of New England
  • Improving understanding and forecasting of environmental conditions that produce flooding in the White Mountains
  • Understanding climate records contained in the ice cores
