Profile
James Koermer began his career as a weather officer for the US Air Force, retiring after 20 years as a lieutenant colonel. He joined the Plymouth State University faculty in 1988 and served as chair of the natural science department for several years. He is currently Director of the Judd Gregg Meteorology Institute. Koermer’s areas of expertise include dynamic meteorology, mesometeorology, numerical weather prediction, and computer applications.
