Profile

Rik Pfenninger teaches courses in jazz improvisation, woodwind methods, jazz history, business of music, and jazz arranging at Plymouth State University. As the music technology director, Pfenninger also oversees the Sound Synthesis Studio, where students can work with multi-track recording, multimedia, and film scoring. He directs the annual All New England Jazz Festival at PSU, which features two days of concerts, lectures, and clinics devoted to jazz performance. He is also the program director for the Silver Center concert series. Pfenninger has recorded and arranged seven jazz compilations and has presented at several state and national conferences.
