Organizational Communication

The Organizational Communication certificate addresses the effective transmission of internal and external communication related to the organization. Particular emphasis is placed on developing critical skills such as speaking, listening, writing, and understanding nonverbal, visual, and mass communication. Public relations principles and practices are also stressed. Depth and scope are provided by the study of strategic communication involving issues management, media relations, and crisis planning. Promoting the corporate image through collateral materials, Web sites, and through integrated marketing is also examined. For students interested in earning an MBA, the four Organizational Communication courses and an additional six graduate business courses can be applied toward a full MBA degree.
