Graduate Commencement 2011
Yes, it is time to begin thinking about the 61st Annual Graduate Commencement, scheduled for Saturday, May 14, at 10 a.m. in the Foley Gymnasium on the beautiful Plymouth State University campus. More than 350 graduate students are eligible to participate in this year’s celebration, which will feature the presentation of the 2011 Distinguished Graduate Teaching Award and the Granite State Award. President Sara Jayne Steen will confer the following degrees: Master of Education, Master of Arts in Teaching, Master of Science, and Master of Business Administration, as well as the post-master’s Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies.
The College of Graduate Studies prides itself on making Graduate Commencement a family friendly event and all graduates are encouraged to participate in the ceremony. There will be a complimentary light breakfast available for all graduates and their family and friends beginning at 8:30 a.m. This year, the College of Graduate Studies will also host a Graduate Reception immediately following the ceremony at the PSU Ice Arena and Welcome Center across the street. A light lunch will be served and skating will be available for anyone who would like to take to the ice. All eligible graduates will receive more information on the ceremony and related activities via their myPlymouth email in the weeks ahead.
