The Applied Health Fitness majors from Health and Human Performance are once again offering their exercise and physical activity leadership expertise to PSU Faculty and Staff members. This spring a new “Functional Training” program will be offered in the HUB fitness room from 6:45 -7:30 AM on Tuesday and Thursday mornings this spring. There will be no charge and enrollment is limited to 20 participants.
This program is designed to improved strength, endurance, balance and coordination in ways that support both daily tasks and recreational activities. Functional training can be modified to meet individual needs and levels of experience. The student trainers are enthusiastic about using this training methodology, as it is current and evidence-based.
An introductory session will be held on Thursday March 7th at 6:45 am in the HUB fitness room. Anyone interested in participating should come to complete the registration process. Session A will meet March 12 – April 11 (excluding Spring Break); Session B will meet April 16-May 9. To get the most out of this program, participants are encouraged to commit to participation in all 8 classes of a session to get the full benefit of learning and conditioning.
