Provides the knowledge needed to handle medical emergencies requiring extended care in remote settings. Emphasis is on prevention, decision-making, and treatment. Students who successfully complete the course and pass the WFR exam receive a Wilderness First Responder certificate, good for three years. Students also have an opportunity to receive CPR certification. Taught using a combination of lecture, scenarios, and rescue simulations. Additional course fee required. Falls.
