Undergraduate Health and Human Performance Degrees
The Health and Human Performance Department offers a range of degrees and options to meet your academic and career needs.
- The Bachelor of Science in Adventure Education provides students with experience in using outdoor activities such as backpacking, rock climbing, canoeing, ropes courses and mountaineering to inspire growth and challenge in a variety of fields, including nonprofit and commercial outdoor education, therapeutic adventure, and environmental and recreation programs.
- The Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training provides students with skills and knowledge through coursework and clinical experience. While gaining a background in human anatomy and physiology, pathology, kinesiology and therapeutic modalities, you'll learn how to prevent and assess injuries and illness, design rehabilitation programs and promote health, nutrition and wellness among athletes. Coursework is based on competencies set forth by the National Athletic Trainers' Association.
- The Bachelor of Science in Health Education focuses on areas of health education including community health, personal health, family life, growth and development, nutrition, disease prevention, safety, environmental health, consumer health, and substance use and abuse.
- The Bachelor of Science in Physical Education focuses on the study of human movement using scientific and social foundations. The study of Physical Education develops a scientific understanding of human movement and the skills to apply theoretical concepts into practical settings. This program prepares students for careers in a variety of health, fitness, and education settings.
