

About Professor McCahan
Barbara McCahan is a health/fitness educator at Plymouth State University in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Her background in biological sciences and her extensive training and experience in the health/fitness industry bring together a mixture of skills and interests that lend vitality and practicality to her teaching in higher education.
She serves as chair of the Health and Human Performance Department and teaches a variety of theory and professional activity courses, including Applied Nutrition for Exercise and Wellness, Motor Development, Kinesiology, and various group exercise modalities such as step aerobics, water exercise and social dance.
She is also a faculty member of the PATH Institute, delivering graduate courses in Alternative Health and Healing and Spiritual Health. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Community Guaranty Savings Bank of Plymouth. Barbara is a swimmer, Nordic and alpine skiing enthusiast, and vocalist. She and her husband, Ted, live in Plymouth with their two daughters, Claire and Molly.
