About Dr. McCormack 

Dr. Louise McCormack received her Bachelor of Health and Physical Education degree from Plymouth State College, her Master of Education degree in Health and Physical Education from The Ohio State University and her Doctor of Education degree from Boston University. During her 25-year tenure, Louise has been the physical education pedagogy coordinator, student teaching coordinator for physical education and health education, coordinator of part-time instruction, and co-advisor for both HPER Club and Phi Epsilon Kappa Honorary Society. She serves as assistant chair of the Health and Human Performance Department, and coordinator of the teacher certification program for physical education and health education.

Dr. McCormack has received several awards that recognize her contributions to teaching, service and scholarship from the New Hampshire Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (NHAHPERD), Eastern District Association (EDA), and American Alliance in Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD). In 1999, Plymouth State recognized Dr. McCormack as the Distinguished Teacher of the Year, citing that, as a professor, "she appreciates and respects students and treats them as colleagues, serves as an effective role model and involves students in scholarly activities."

Since joining the Plymouth State faculty, Dr. McCormack has involved more than 60 students in presentations and publications at the state, district and national level while bringing dozens more to state, regional and national conferences. Her philosophy of engaging teacher education candidates early within their academic programs has produced professionals whose goal it is to enhance movement opportunities for all members of society.
