Participant Eligibility
Duty of Intramural Captain
Captains are responsible for the team registration, turning in registration fee and attending the captain's meeting. The captain is also responsible to ensure that all team members are eligible and knowledgeable of all Intramural game rules and policies.
Game Scheduling
All games will be scheduled after the captain's meeting. NO teams will be added after the Captains Meeting. We try to schedule games and be as accommodating as possible, but due to the size and limited facility space, not all requests will be granted.
Weather
NO Games will be rescheduled due to inclement weather. Both teams will be awarded with a win.
It's Raining or Snowing? Are we still playing?
Inclement weather cancellations will be decided NO earlier than 4pm on game day. It is the duty of the team captain to call the Recreation Programs office 535-2959. If the answering machine says games are cancelled, then there will be no games played that night. Team captains must then call their team to inform them of the cancellation. If the machine doesn't say games are cancelled the regular schedule will be played.
NOTE: All sporting events held indoors will NOT be cancelled even if school has been closed.
Forfeits & Defaults
To better serve the majority of Teams that arrive before game time, the following policies have been adjusted.
League Play
Leagues allow the IM participants to play in a formal league in the sport of there choice. We have different divisions for each sport. Most sports will have a co-ed, intermediate and advanced divisions. Leagues will be played two nights a week or once a weekend. All teams will make the playoffs except those that have forfeits and or have been ejected. Winners of all division win an awesome IM Champion Shirt.
Tournament Play
We offer random tournamnets through out the school year. Tournaments may be completed in one day or a week long tournament. Tournaments may have different divisions and each tournament winner will receive an IM Champion Shirt.
Suspension & Ejections
If an IM participant starts to act in an inappropriate and disorderly towards IM officials, scorekeepers, supervisors or other IM participants, they will be asked to leave the playing area immediately. Foul language and poor attitudes/behavior will NOT BE TOLERATED. If ejected from a game, the player ejected must meet with the assistant coordinator for recreation programs to discuss the players future as an intramural participant. If fighting break outs during an IM event, the persons involved will be turned over to the Universities Judicial Officers.
Clothes, Shoes & Apparel
Balls & Equipment
Most equipment will be provided for all IM sports. With the exception of gloves and golf clubs. Participants may bring there own equipment (softball bat) but must be approved by the IM supervisor before use.
Assumption of Risk and Injuries
Each IM participant is playing under their own free will. Participating in an Intramural program involves the risk of serious injury. These injuries may include, but are not limited to, strains, sprains, abrasions, contusions, eye damage, fractures, broken bones and serious disabling injuries.
All injuries that happen during IM sports programs should be reported immediately to an intramural supervisor. All IM staff are required to be first aid, CPR and AED certified.
