Call for nominations for Academic Advising Award

WHO MAY MAKE A NOMINATION: Students, faculty, administrators, Operating Staff, and PAT Staff

DEADLINE: Friday, 25 April 2008

WHO IS ELIGIBLE: Any Plymouth State University faculty/staff member that is an advisor.

HOW TO NOMINATE: Using the Nomination Form, submit the name of the academic advisor.  Although there are criteria by which the nominees will be chosen after nomination, you may nominate any advisor whom you feel is deserving.

NOMINEES SHOULD HAVE/BE:

  • Strong interpersonal skills; the advisor knows who the advisee is and has a connection with the student
  • Available to advisees
  • Frequent contact with advisees
  • Referring advisees to appropriate resources
  • A Caring, helpful attitude toward advisees
  • Monitoring advisees progress toward academic and career goals
  • Knowledge of institutional regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Engaging, promoting, and supporting developmental advising
  • Participating in and supporting of campus-offered advisor development programs/workshops

Give at least THREE reasons for your choice on the Nomination Form.

WHO WILL CHOOSE: A committee made of up students appointed by the Student Senate and co-chaired by the Student Representative to the USNH Board of Trustees & Student Body Vice President.

Mail your nomination to Gene Martin, Suite A3, or email to epmartin@plymouth.edu by April 25, 2008.
