Hometown:
Sharon, MA
Major:
Childhood Studies (Certification K-8)
Graduation Year:
2010
Why I chose PSU:
When I was looking into college, I was looking for a school that had a good teaching program. Every year when my family and I went on vacation to New Hampshire we passed Plymouth and I knew I wanted to go there to college.
My life at PSU:
Plymouth has been a great experience. The education and all the people I have met in the last three years have been exciting.
What I do in Plymouth and at PSU:
I spend time hanging out with friends and being on campus. I work for the technical crew and do sound and lighting for all the performers that come to the HUB. When I’m not working at the HUB or in class I am either with friends, skiing, hiking, or snowmobiling in the White Mountains.
Your favorite PSU experience:
The best Plymouth experience for me has to be when I got a job at the hub. I got me to meet some of the hardest and most devoted workers I have ever met. It also helped me get really involved in all the activities that Plymouth has to offer.
Which organizations do you belong to?
Childhood Studies Club
What activities have been most valuable to you?
I would have to say working for the HUB and meeting all the cool performers that come to our school.
In what ways does PSU foster involvement and the ability for you to build community?
Plymouth State offers many things and places that help you meet old and new friends. From activities that are offered at the HUB to meeting people on the green during lunch there are people everywhere to do things with in Plymouth. In my education classes, once you get to junior year you’re with the same people in all your classes and that really helps you make long lasting friendships.
On-campus or off? Why?
Definitely off campus. Off Campus gives you a whole different experience while still being close to campus. You are able to live there during winter term with the rent built into what you pay for the semester already and have the opportunity to be in a different setting. I only live one street away from campus, so it still feels like on campus housing.
Do you do any community service through the CSC or outdoor trips through the Outdoor Center?
No, however I may look into it if I have extra time this year. The outdoor trips always sounded interesting.
Do you visit the Fitness Center or do any Group Ex classes?
The fitness center at Plymouth is just like one of the commercial gyms you find in a big city. I try to utilize it when I have time.
