Maintaining F-1 Visa Status

• Always register as a full-time student.
• Work only 20 hours (on-campus) per week. Remember, work needs to be approved by the DSO.
• Keep your passport valid and unexpired at all times.
• Report all changes in your U.S. address, legal name or visa status to the DSO.
• Have your I-20 signed by the DSO if you plan to travel and it hasn’t been signed in the past 12 months.
• It is YOUR responsibility to ensure that all of your documents are valid, current and are kept in a safe place.
