When you link to a file in Acrobat (PDF) format, your browser will load the Adobe Acrobat Reader,
you will briefly see the Acrobat Reader banner, then the document will appear.
If the Reader does not load, then you need to download it from Adobe (it's free) and
install it. Here is a link to Adobe. You will get instructions there on installing
the program.
Here are some tips on displaying documents:
Use the Windows icons in the upper right corner of the screen to maximize
the size of the Reader window.
Click on the magnifying glass on the toolbar, then click on the document to enlarge
displayed text. To return to a smaller size, press Ctrl while clicking or use the page icons near the right end
of the toolbar or the View menu.
On the toolbar, the third icon from the left will display bookmarks if they exist.
Bookmarks provide a quick way to skip to particular parts of a document. Not all documents
have bookmarks, but longer ones frequently do.
The binoculars icon on the right end of the toolbar brings up a "Find" dialogue
which permits you to search for specific words or parts of words. You can also call up the "Find" dialogue from the Tools menu.
If you set the view to Full Screen, you can get back to the toolbars by pressing Escape [ESC] or
Ctrl-Shift-L.
