Brian Beaudrie is an associate professor of mathematics education who joined the department in 2003.  He's the current Director of the NH-Impact Center, which provides professional development in K-12 mathematics throughout the state of New Hampshire.  He's also the Graduate Coordinator for the Mathematics Department, which involves advising all graduate students in the M. Ed. program who are getting degrees with a mathematics emphasis, and designing the graduate course schedule.

Dr. Beaudrie teaches mathematics and mathematics education courses for our secondary majors, mathematics education content courses for pre-service elementary teachers and many graduate mathematics education courses for in-service teachers. He's also been the primary faculty member working with the secondary mathematics education majors, supervising them during their student teaching experience.  He also has written and received funding for several grant proposals designed to help the teaching and learning of mathematics in the state of New Hampshire.

Dr. Beaudrie is the first recipient of the Ed and Marilyn Wixson Endowed Professorship of Mathematics and is the 2008 winner of the Richard H. Balomenos Memorial Award, given annually to a New Hampshire Mathematics Educator who has shown outstanding or meritorious service or leadership to the mathematics education community in the state of New Hampshire.

Dr. Beaudrie gives numerous presentations each year at state, regional, and national conferences, and is actively involved in the state and regional mathematics organizations, serving as the newsletter editor for the Association of Teachers of Mathematics in New England (ATMNE).  His interests are the use of technology in the mathematics classroom, distance education, quantitative literacy, studying the transition from high school to college for high school students, and attempting to raise his two lovely daughters.
