The Contemporary Dance Ensemble (CDE) is PSU’s dance performance company. The CDE provides multiple opportunities for students to perform and choreograph in concerts and informal workshops. This is an audition course (DN 3010), open to all Plymouth State University students. Auditions are held at the beginning of each term. CDE is a one-credit, repeatable course.
The CDE performs many styles of dance—modern, ballet, jazz, tap, etc. Performance venues include the Dance Concert Series with fall and spring concerts, American College Dance Festival, NHAHPERD workshops and the PSU Dance Premiere. Choreographers for this company include Plymouth faculty, CDE students and a variety of guest artists.
The Guest Artist Series, master classes and the Summer Dance Intensive program enhance the student's development in performance and choreography.
